No Name Calling Week ~ Have you ever been called names or been made uncomfortable because of what was being said to you? Next week, during No-Name Calling week we will be having a series of mini-plays of actual instances where this occurred here at CMS. These mini-plays will be shown during the first part of SSR and they are meant to provoke you into thinking about how you treat others. Are you a put-downer or name caller? You might think you are just teasing but does your target think/feel the same? If you have a story you would like to share see Mrs. G. or Ms. Llamas. Your name will NOT be used.

Free 4 the Weekend writing contest: If you would like the chance to be among the student representatives for the county-wide Free 4 the Weekend campaign (and be famous on a postcard, in some
local newspapers, etc), please come by Ms. Llamas's room, room 5, for an entry form. All you need to do is write a short paragraph, or a poem, or a song/rap on why you are drug and alcohol free. There will
be one winner chosen from Carpinteria Middle School to stand with the winners from all of the other middle and high schools from Goleta, Santa Barbara, and CHS!!! Come by room 5 for more details.
