Geeks abound! Are you noticing people with their glasses taped together? Or their pants hiked up or wearing a pocket protector... if you are they might just be a geek who is cool. Why? Because they are celebrating Pi day...3.14. What is pi you say?
Pi is an irrational number, and so it cannot be completely represented. Computers have calculated pi to over 1 trillion digits past the decimal. Pi represents the relationship between a circle’s diameter and its circumference.

Speaking of numbers, here's one for you...500,749. That's how many pages we all have read up to this point which is more than halfway to our goal. Mrs. McCulley's period 5 class has read the most. They've read 10% of our total pages... In fact, sixth grade has read almost HALF of our total pages. C'mon 7th & 8th graders are you really going to let the 6th graders beat you. Report your pages NOW!! Crystal Landeros is the "Caughtcha Reading" drawing winner and Jessica Lemus guessed closest to the amount we read in Feb. See Mrs. G.

3.10.2011

Daily Bulletin for Friday, March 11th

Okay all you squares or should I say circles! Monday is Geek day in honor of Pi as in the circumference and area of a circle = 3.14 which is Monday's date. So, put masking tape in the center of your glasses, wear a pocket protector, hike your pants up and celebrate! Get your GEEK on!
