Clubs: Club Live Leaders Meeting at Lunch

Do you want to learn to play the harmonica next week?
Nat Turner, Blues Artist in Residence, will be here to give you a harmonica and teach you to play it and create your own songs. If you have PE or an elective 1st or 2nd period and want to do this for a week, give your name to the office. Band students who told Mrs. Unruh, we already have your names, but feel free to double check you're on our list.

Garden Club, Thursday
please report to the garden afterschool at 3:15pm. Can't wait to see you there. We will be planning our next fieldtrip. Thanks, Miss C

Period 5 Digital Photo class;
Camera check out will be Monday. Please be prompt for camera check-out in Mr. Meyers. Doors shut at 12:30.

School Safety and Courtesy:
  • All students, if you are caught launching paper clips with rubber bands you will be suspended. It is very dangerous.
  • Ladies, you may not use curling irons/hair straighteners at lunch or nutrition in the bathrooms. Bathroom use should be limited to what you need to use it for, it is not a place to hang out and chat.
  • Gentlemen, we have trash cans in the bathroom for you to throw paper towels into. Please use them. Trash does not belong on the floor, and balls of paper towel do not throw the same way as a tennis ball. If you throw and miss, pick it up and get it in the trash. Thank you.
Talent Show-countdown to Wednesday:

Talent Show tickets are now on sale. They are 3.00 each. You can purchase them before school; break; lunch; and after school in the library. Mrs. Tito will also have them available. Avoid the huge lines and purchase them ahead of time.

Talent show participants should receive a copy of "Countdown to the Talent Show" in first period today. If you did not receive it please see Mrs. Tito and get your copy. She is out at both lunches and at the 7th and 8th grade break. This is very important.

CADE Celebrating Adversity Diversity and Education
We would like to thank all students and CMS staff for supporting our fundraiser for our trip to Berkeley and Stanford this spring. We would also like to share a fact about Black History Month with you all:

Americans have recognized black history annually since 1926, first as "Negro History Week" and later as "Black History Month." What you might not know is that black history had barely begun to be studied-or even documented-when the tradition originated. Although blacks have been in America at least as far back as colonial times, it was not until the 20th century that they gained a respectable presence in the history books.

Next week we will share another historical fact about Black History.
