Ms. Marcellino's Mini-List of Mainly Mighty Memos:

1) All Club Live Leaders please meet in Room 5 at lunch today!

2) Animation workshop THIS WEEKEND. Animators from The Simpsons are teaching a FREE animation workshop to students. They will teach you to animate your own videos. Please see Miss Marcellino for a permission slip.

3) All CMS students are invited to a Halloween Dance sponsored by Club Live on Halloween after school from 4pm-6pm. Come in costume!

Garden Club Field Trip! Hit the road this Thursday on a field trip to Canalino school. California Representative Lois Capps will be there doing a presentation on the After School Program. We will be leaving school around 3:15pm and returning around 4:30/4:45pm. Please join us in the fun!

Energy Drinks: All - You can not drink Energy Drinks (such as Monster) on campus. They are bad for you and a waste of your money. Any drinks seen out will be confiscated and only returned to a parent.

About Energy Drinks: Have you ever seen someone put a spoonful of sugar into a cup of coffee or tea? Think about this: One 16 oz. can of Monster has 54 grams of sugar. That equals almost 13 teaspoons of sugar (54 divided by 4.2). Think about adding a teaspoon of sugar thirteen times to any liquid drink. (Okay, everybody, pretend you are holding a spoon and dip it into an imaginary sugar bowl. Now pretend to dump it in a beverage. Repeat that action thirteen times.)
The mind boggles!

More About Energy Drinks: If you added one energy drink per day to your daily food intake for a year, you would consume an additional 91,250 calories (365 days X 250 calories). Using 3500 calories per pound, that means that one would gain 26 pounds if everything else were held the same. This is about the same as two bowling balls.

Picture Day Reminder: Picture Re-Take Day is Wednesday, October 15th, from 8:30 thru 11:30. If you were absent picture day or need your picture re-taken, go to the Band Room during PE. 5th & 6th period and Independent PE students go during break. If you are having re-takes you must bring your picture with you along with $5.00. Questions – See office staff.

Teachers
All teachers who did not have picture taken the first time around, should have picture taken this Wednesday. We need it for the yearbook!

(6th Grade) Keeping Down the Noise: Thanks to all the 6th graders who have made an effort to return to class quietly after lunch. When you are quiet, you help the students in the 7 & 8th grade classes in the math quad continue to study and learn without interruption. The respect you show them by being quiet is a kindness and a perfect example of caring. Thank you for your courtesy!

(6th Grade) Lunch Area - At lunchtime, you will no longer be allowed to eat in the stage area. Please eat your lunch in the eating area. Thank you for your cooperation!
